Inspiration.

I opened up a Dove's chocolate at work today and this is what it said.
How perfect.
It definitely made my day. Remember, be you. Nobody does it better.

Happy Thanksgiving, blog universe.

Should have stayed in bed.

Today is cold and rainy. It's just one of those days where you would rather be laying in bed watching Buffy reruns and drinking hot tea. Not at work. So I'm going to post this picture and hope it makes you all happy if you're suffering from the rainy blues like I am.

That picture is the part of fall I love most. Not this crap. I took that picture when I went up to visit my parents the other weekend. The trees are all so beautiful up there (about 30 minutes from where I live.) And I love going back. What do you miss about home?

Best to you, blog universe.

I am a terrible person!

Or at least, a terrible blogger. :)
My life has been so crazzzzyyy. School has really stepped up and these past few weekends have been jam packed. But okay, okay, enough with the excuses.
Can I just say... I love fall! I love the way the air smells so clean, and the way all the trees change colors, and I love that I'm able to run around in jeans and a hoodie. These past few days have kind of been an Indian Summer, though. Close to 80's, sunny, and beautiful.
The boyfran and I have a trip to Cedar Point planned for this weekend. I love roller coasters. I haven't been all summer and I'm super excited that we're finally going. We're taking two of my younger cousins with us, so hopefully they're up for the big rides. And not only that, but since I work at a credit union, we have Monday off for Columbus Day. (Don't you love banker's hours?!) Three-day weekend, here I come!
I came up with an idea today that I can start posting here, on my blog. I'm going to call it, "In the Classroom With Abby D" and they'll be these mini how-to lessons. What do you think?
Here's a little review for you.

The other day at Wal-Mart I needed to pick up some shaving cream. My usual, go-to shaving gel is Satin Care shave gel in Lavender Kiss. I loooove it. I love the smell and works just like a shaving gel should. However, as I was perusing the aisles, I came across the new eos shaving creams and they caught my attention. And they had a lavender jasmine scent, so of course I had to grab that one. Here's what their website says. "This non-foaming cream boosts skin's moisture level and keeps it smooth long after you're done shaving. It's so moisturizing, you can shave wet or dry. And eos provides a closer shave, even helping to prevent those little razor bumps."

Buy this at your local Wal-Mart or online, here.

As soon as I got home I jumped in the shower to shave the shrubbery that I call my legs, and sadly, I was not really impressed with this product. Don't get me wrong, it was not terrible, but it also wasn't great. I didn't like that the product did not lather. It really is a cream. Kind of like with my shampoos, I NEED LATHER! NEED IT! It did, however, leave my legs feeling pretty moisturized. Even the next day. None of that flaking dry skin problem right after you shave. So kudos on that eos. But for now, I think I'll stick with my Lavender Kiss Satin Cream shave gel. *takes a huge whiff and sighs happily* So so good.

FYI, I am obsessed with Vampire Diaries. And a new episode comes on in half an hour. Super pumped. Also, tickets went on sale for Breaking Dawn! Next paycheck... you know what I'm doing! :)

Good night, blog universe.
I promise not to stay away so long next time.

Whaaaaaa...

I had a pumpkin shake from Culver's tonight. It was delicious.
But it did not agree with me. Might have to do with all that dairy.
Well, hello Febreeze, meet stinky bathroom.

I just love pumpkin so much!

Just Another Manic Monday

Yesterday, I woke up with a cold... at least I thought so. Stuffed, runny nose, sore throat, the whole shebang. However, today, it seems to have disappeared. Maybe allergies? I guess we'll have to see. (My boyfriend has been suffering from a cold for the past two weeks. The poor boy. :/) Keep your fingers crossed! I would really like to not have to deal with one more added stress right now. School is starting to kick into high gear now that we're on week 5 and I work full-time, plus I'm trying to keep my apartment from looking like a tornado went through it. Today, my boyfriend and I actually scheduled a weekend in October where we are not going to make any plans. We made plans to not make any plans. Haha. But life is so busy and hectic as of lately, that a weekend to do entirely nothing is exactly what we need. Sigh. The cruelty of being an adult. What I wouldn't give for childhood...
Speaking of childhood! Yesterday, Sunday, my sisters and I went to see The Lion King in 3D. The 3D part was simply, eh, but the movie was as good as I remembered it to be. :) I'll have to admit, I got a little teary-eyed when Mufasa died and Simba ran away. As an adult, I can read so much more into the movie than I was capable as a youngster. Sitting in the theater, we could hear children asking their parents, "Why? Why did he die?" "Why is Scar being mean?" It was darling to hear, but such difficult questions to really answer. Just something to think about, I guess...
Saturday night, I had both of my sisters over for a little bonding time. Earlier that day at Wal-Mart, we picked up some facial masks. Freeman Feeling Beautiful Masks & Scrubs. We picked up the small packets instead of the actual bottles. We bought quite a few of these; pink grapefruit scrub, pineapple enzyme mask, mint & lemon clay mask, and the avacado & oatmeal clay mask just being a few.

You can find these at your local drugstore or Wal-Mart, or buy online here.
The avacado & oatmeal clay mask is the mask I chose to use. "This rich clay mask, with added Oatmeal and Vitamin E, draws out excess oils and dirt, purging clogged pores, leaving your skin clean and soft." I suffer from extremely large pores on my cheeks and nose so I figured this would be a great way to prep my skin for some deep cleaning. The instructions are: "Apply mask to face and neck. Let dry and rinse with warm water." It states something about keeping away from eyes, but I figure anyone who is semi-intelligent can figure this out. But anyways, following the instructions I applied the mask to my face. And even though it was a small packet, there was still a ton of product inside. Enough so that I only used half of the packet and saved the rest for another occasion. So after applying a generous amount of the mask all over my face, I let it dry. It dried completely in about five minutes and I left in on for about another 12 minutes or so. Just to make sure it really sunk in and got deeeppp into mah pores!!! Then I rinsed with warm water. And voila! While I can't really say for sure whether or not it "purged" my pores, it did leave my skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom. I'm excited to try out the other packets we bought, I'll have to let you know how those go as well. Would I recommend this product? For $1.97 each, hell yes! It's a quick pick-me-up for your skin and nothing makes a woman feel more attractive than having radiant skin. :)

Hope you had a good Monday, blog universe.

A Beautiful Fall Day

So today, my sister and and I got to spend some quality time together. There's a fall festival going on in our town, so we decided to go explore that. Besides getting there, (traffic was terrible, I lost my cool a few times) we really enjoyed ourselves! There were lots of booths with neat little crafts in them and of course some delicious yum yums. :) And the weather was perfect!

We started off our day by eating some frozen yogurt at Yo-Yos. My concoction was birthday cake with a little chocolate and strawberry with gummy bears and sprinkles. :) It was delicious!
After we got to the festival, we saw a "pickle-on-a-stick" stand... my sister and I love pickles! So of course, we had to have a pickle-on-a-stick.
We wandered around for another hour or so and by this time, we needed some more food! So we got ourselves a funnel cake. We split it between the two of us and we still couldn't finish it. But it was yummy. :)

My sister and I. :) Such a wonderful day!

Have a nice night, blog universe.
